It has four different warmth options to choose from (super light, light, medium, and extra), as well as an option for a standard or oversized comforter. What remains constant across all varieties is the hypoallergenic-tested Hungarian-goose-down fill, an incredibly fluffy feel, a 430-thread-count combed cotton sateen cover, and 15-inch baffle-box stitching that keeps the loft in place. It's available in all sizes from twin to king, and it does require professional dry cleaning to keep it in its peak condition.
Features: The first detail we noticed was the 1200 thread count. While everyone loves Egyptian cotton and high thread counts in beds sheets, it is a draw to find this amazing 1200 thread count in a down comforter. Add the 750+ fill power with the Egyptian cotton, and you are floating in luxury. Striped damask is lightly embellished over a well made batting.
To facilitate hand quilting, colorfast quilting weight cotton fabrics (and occasionally light weight woolen fabrics) are used to cover the fronts and backs of Amish quilts. Fabrics are purchased off-the-shelf from fabric stores or distributors in small quantities usually no more than a bolt of a particular fabric at a time. Extra wide fabric is purchased to be used to cover the back of the quilt. It is traditional and not unusual to use somewhat rustic cotton muslin on quilt backs and, where appropriate, on the front of quilts. Both solid color fabrics and printed fabrics are used in Amish quilts.
Fill Power: This is the goose down fill to be put in the comforter measured in cubic inches. The rule of thumb on fill is “The higher fill power, the higher the quality of comforter”. A high fill power is going to be more insulating and warmer but still remaining light and with loft. Our suggestion is to start at a fill power of at least 600 (commercial quality) with around 700+ being perfect loft, retaining body heat evenly. The higher the cubic inch measure of the fill power the higher the loft.

Performance: You won’t ever have to worry about durability of this down comforter, and if you do, it has a lifetime guarantee included. Legends refer to their comforter as being of ‘heirloom worthy’ quality. We like that. This superior quality comforter is made with Hungarian goose down which is even warmer than regular down. The supremium model is the highest grade of comforter available from Warm Things. The premium will keep even the coldest of feet toasty warm so you can have a good night!

The quality of down insulation is measured by the fill-power index which ranges from 400 (low grade down) to 900 (high grade down). The higher the fill-power index, the better warmth for the weight the insulation provides. Down is often treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellant) so that it becomes better at retaining warmth when exposed to moisture. Such down is referred to as hydrophobic down.
The comforter’s fabric is going to determine the quality. While much is based on personal preference for texture or feel, details like type of fabric and thread count are the luxurious boost aside from the fill power. The main consideration here is finding a good balance between the weave, thread count, and the material. There are four types of fabrics used for down comforters:
Like artisan-made quilts, the top of this one is also made in a piecework style and done in a mix of antique-inspired floral print. It’s made of 100% cotton, a hypo-allergenic and comfortable material for multiple seasons, and the quilt is oversize to work with taller mattresses and comes with two pillow shams. It comes prewashed and pre-shrunk and is reversible, too. Plus, more than 1,000 Amazon reviewers love this quilt.

A great entry level comforter with high end features. Pinzon is Amazon.com’s house brand for bedding and linens – like how Costco rebrands their products under the Kirkland brand. Amazon’s Pinzon branded comforters are actually manufactured by Downlite, the company that also makes down filled bedding for Eddie Bauer, Bloomingdales, and other high-end retailers.
